We did it just about every weekend, hitting up all the yard sales we could find and hear about throughout the week. This particular run was going pretty bad so far, and with only two places left to go, I had little hope in turning it around. Right off the bat, it was a strange yard sale.

It was about fifteen miles out into some fields and farmland. I wouldn't be surprised if daddy and me were the only customers to the whole thing. We arrived there and saw a bunch of junk, but among the junk was a pretty cool iron chandelier. It was originally just a nice concept, but after seeing the $20 price tag on it, I knew I had to have it. I owned it, and it sat comfortably in my living room for 12 years. When my father died, I got it appraised as I was moving out of the city to start fresh.
